The Old Woman Who Lived In Her Shoe

I received these boots for Christmas 2 years ago and have only worn them twice. I had desperately wanted them but they are the most uncomfortable shoes I have ever worn, and that includes my character heels I wore for dance in high school. Every time I have tried to "break" these beauties in I gave up because they were a little small and so uncomfortable. I even looked into taking them to a cobbler to have them stretched out but was unable to find any decent ones around me. I had all but given up on these boots.

Recently I read online about a way to "break" in shoes involving a blow dryer and thick socks, I decided to give it a try. I put on my thickest socks, grabbed my trusty blow dryer, and slipped on the incredibly painful boots. I directed the blow dryer on one foot for about a minute and then the other for another minute. I then walked around in the boots for about 5 minutes and then repeated the process. I also flexed my feet and did different maneuvers. I then left them on and walked around for another 5 minutes.

Even while I was blow drying and flexing my boots felt so much better. Once I took off the boots and the thick socks and put the boots back on I could totally feel the difference. My feet don't instantly start throbbing when I put them on. I will totally be able to wear them now enough to fully "break" them in, and actually wear them after 2 years. I am defiantly going to repeat this again, because it will probably only make them more comfortable. I can't wait to wear my boots now.

LookBook.

                                       LookBook.nu

I have a problem with www.lookbook.nu. I can spend hours on it. It is like the ultimate people watching, which we all love. LookBook.nu is a website were people can post images of their outfits, instead of blogs like the http://www.thesartorialist.com/ posting pictures of people. LookBook.nu is also used by people all over the world, so you get to see style from every where. I find it so interesting seeing what looks people post.
You can label the pieces in your looks and people can search designers and stores. People can HYPE (like) looks and even LOVE them. You can also comment on looks.  Not only can people post their outfits, but there are also message boards, blogs posted on the site, contests and a lot more.
I love that you also have to apply to belong to LookBook.nu or be invited by someone who already belongs. It just makes it feel a little more exclusive, which everyone loves. Here is one of my favorite recent posts on LookBook.nu

                                        Sunday Funday

I spent the weekend down at my good friends Amanda and Brandon's house in Balboa this weekend. We spent our lazy Sunday at the Balboa Pier enjoying the beautiful weather and people watching. People watching is one of my favorite things to do. Especially tourists. So here are some pictures from the weekend.

We spent forever watching these guys try to get into the water.

The surf was so crazy today.

We met this guy on our walk on the boardwalk.

The Prettymans. My favorite couple.

                                 First Post

This is my first post. So being my first post it's going to be a little introduction about me. I am a 24 year old girl who has a love for traveling, fashion, food, and Star Wars. This blog will be about the different things I enjoy and find. Hope you will enjoy it. The picture below is a picture I took in Central Park on a visit to New York in April.
